The Child Reintegration Centre (CRC) is a globally recognized child welfare organization that transforms the lives of vulnerable children by empowering families and strengthening communities. It was founded on July 4th, 2000 following the 11 years of brutal civil war in Sierra Leone. It started as a residential care facility and later fully transitioned to family-based care in 2017. In addition to providing training on best care practices across the globe, the CRC supports needed services for 2652 children in 376 families across the country of Sierra Leone, as it guides their families to longterm resilience and self-management.

As a mission of the Sierra Leone United Methodist Church Conference, the CRC’s main activities are funded by a number of generous individuals, churches and organizations, including a close collaboration with a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Helping Children Worldwide (HCW) in the greater Washington D.C. area, and the support of the General Board of Global Ministries

 

The CRC serves over 450 families and 1,600 children in Bo, where we are headquarters, and in families in Southern District and in cities like Freetown and Kenema, and villages like Fengehun and Sammie.
